BoardLocal is a local business discovery network connecting hosts and advertisers through BoardLocal Boards. It manages business listings, advertising placements, leads, host locations, and board activity in one place.

BoardLocal is a Grand Rapids community advertising network. We place beautifully designed boards inside busy local venues, and each board connects nearby customers to the businesses featured on it through QR codes and NFC taps.

Where can I find BoardLocal boards?

Boards are installed inside high-foot-traffic venues such as restaurants, cafes, gyms, and shops across Grand Rapids neighborhoods. The Discover Local directory shows the businesses featured on them.

How do I use a board?

Scan the QR code or tap the NFC chip on the board with your phone. It opens a digital page with every business on that board, their Local Perks, and the best way to reach them.

Does it cost anything to use BoardLocal?

No. Discovering businesses, saving perks, and earning Local Rewards points are free for customers.

What areas does BoardLocal serve?

BoardLocal serves local businesses throughout the Greater Grand Rapids area and surrounding West Michigan communities, including Caledonia, Grand Rapids, Ada, Cascade, Kentwood, Byron Center, Wyoming, Grandville, Hudsonville, Jenison, Walker, Rockford, Lowell, and surrounding communities. Whether you're looking to promote your business through a local BoardLocal advertising board, increase your online visibility, or connect with more local customers, BoardLocal offers opportunities to help your business get discovered.

Is it free to be listed?

Yes. A basic BoardLocal listing is free and gives your business a digital profile that customers can find through the Discover Local directory. Paid placements add visibility on the physical boards.

What does it cost to host a board or advertise?

Hosting a board is free for your venue. Advertising placements are annual, and each option's pricing and inclusions are listed on the Advertise page.

How do I become a Host venue?

Tell us about your business through the Host a Board page. We follow up to confirm your location, walk you through the installation, and get your board up.

Can my business offer a Local Perk or reward?

Yes. Businesses can add a Local Perk offer and, once approved, point-based rewards that members redeem with BoardLocal points. Every perk and reward is reviewed before it goes live.

What are Local Rewards points?

Local Rewards points are BoardLocal's loyalty currency. You earn points when you scan a board and when you redeem a business's perk, then spend them on rewards from participating businesses.

How do I redeem a perk?

Open the perk on your phone and follow the redemption step. Some perks are verified by the business when you show your code, and others you activate yourself within a short time window.

Do perks and rewards expire?

Each perk and reward has its own dates set by the business. Once it expires, it stops appearing on boards, in the directory, and in your saved list.

What does a directory listing mean?

BoardLocal helps you discover local businesses throughout Greater Grand Rapids. Directory listings may include publicly available business information. A listing alone does not mean a business is an official BoardLocal partner, host, or paid advertiser. Participating businesses are identified where applicable.
